Can Digi XBee3™ ZigBee 3.0 device join a ZigBee HA Coordinator?

The documentation hints that the new XBee3 modules are able to operate in a mixed network with S2C modules. However, does XBee3 also inlcude any backwards compatibility to join ZigBee HA coordinator networks?

Basically, this question is to understand if the following knowledge base article is also true for the new XBee3 modules:

Yes the settings listed on that article would still apply.
