# Can i add a RPSMA connector to my Xbee Pro with a wire antenna?

I purchased the wire Ant Xbee a couple years ago, I have a project now where i need to use an external antenna and i would like to solder a connector to my Xbee with the wire antenna…

No you can’t. There are different components populated under the shield which directs the RF to one port or the other.
