cannot get a Xbee Pro S2C W/SMA antenna to talk to another S2C W/SMA antenna

I have a Xbee S2C W/SMA set as my Coordindator.
I can make an S2C with Whip and with U.Fl antenna work.

I set:
ID - Pan ID
JV - Channel Verification
CE - Coordinator Enable (On Coordinator only)
AP - API enable (Tried all three settings)

Are you able to get them to talk with API mode off?

Are they associated? That would be the AI set to 0.

Are they on the same channel and pan ID?

Im Using XCTU ver.6.5.0
ID-Pan Id is set the same on both
SC- Scan channel is set the same on both
JV-Channel Verification is Enabled on both
CE-is enabled on the coordinator only
AP is set to API Enabled with Escaping [2]

I have this in a circuit and the light is flashing that its associated, but Im not seeing it on my controlling hub as connected.

the HUB is not important.
Shouldnt I be able to take my two xbees, insert them into dongle controllers and have them talk in the Console?
Ok, using the settings I gave for the coordinator.
What Exact parameters do I need to set on the Router SMA xbee?

Sc1man,

Using API mode means that you are sending Intel hex API character frames to the radio that is properly formatted. Have you tried simply using transparent mode to eliminate the radio side of this and determine if it is simply your code that is not functioning?
