I have an RS-422 serial device (linear footage counter) that transmits data to a PC. Is it possible to use a Digi One at the device end set to RS-422 and receive the data on another Digi One at the PC end set to RS-232 without using a separate RS-422/RS-232 converter?

RS-422Device -\> DigiOne -\> Ethernet -\> DigiOne -\> PC(RS-232)

That wouldn’t be a problem, since 232 or 422 is a local interface characteristic, and data is just data.

The Digi Ones are in effect doing the 422-to-232 conversion for you.
