# Hard reset Xbee3

I made the mistake of modifying the GT (Guard time) parameter on XCTU and now my Xbee module won’t respond. I cannot connect it either to XCTU and X-CTU, so I cannot perform a recovery procedure.

Is it possible to reset it manually? I am using a Xbee3-24 (Digi Xbee3 Zigbee 3.0 TH), with an Arduino and shield adapter.

I would suggest pressing the commissioning button 4 times within 1 second. That should restore it to factory defaults.

Thank you, it worked!

For info: I didn’t have a commissioning button, so I used a jumper wire to simulate a button press by connecting Arduino ground to the 20th pin of my XBee.
