Our vendor told us that “Character mismatch erros” appear on one port when no equipment connected. Is it a big problem? How do I see this kind of error message? Thanks.
I recommend downloading and installing the DPA Remote software utility from Digi’s web-site. It is available for a variety of operating system flavors and will allow you to monitor serial activity/packet errors.
Thanks.
I installed the PDA-remote software. But I don’t see any errors on that port. Where can I see “Character mismatch errors”?
Thanks again

Yes, it is free. You can download it from the following URL:
http://www.digi.com/support/productdetl.jsp?pid=2240&osvid=0&s=41&tp=4
Choose the desired O.S. in the drop down box at the bottom of the page.
Not sure what you mean by “Character mismatch errors”, please clarify.
Meanwhile, you can see framing, parity and overrun errors using the DPA Remote software to help determine whether there is a port setting mismatch.
Thanks.
Found the problem. Our vendor saw the “Character mismatch” errors on their system, not on term server. Bad network cabling was the cause.
Thanks again
