I have a sensor which transmits water level data through an optical cable to a device translates the data to a USB.

I want to replace the 300 foot optical cable with a XStick.
The remote sensor is self powered and the translator is USB powered. I can provide a battery pack at the remote m location.
The software at the laptop reads the data through COM port5.

The cost of the telemetry cabling we want to replace is about $300.
