Just started playing with one ME 9210 here and was wondering whether the kernel support would be ever merged upstream?
The version in 4.2 is already quite dated (2.6.26.6 + digi patches).
I’m not sure… Speaking from a purely removed standpoint (new to the framework myself), it seem that a lot of the changes would not likely arrive in the vanilla tree unless it was released as a full BSP. Of course, that would be great… but I think that then, digi would lose a lot of control over its platform. As it is now, they only have to provide down-stream support to customers… and I have a feeling it will stay that way for a while.
