We have installed an Edgeport 8 into Proliant server running Windows 2003 Server. Initially everything worked fine, after a day or so no data could be seen in hyperterm. Removing and reinstalling the driver did not change the situation. A complete re-install solved the problem. Now the device is exhibiting the same problem. This is happening across multiple servers; is there a better solution than a complete reinstall of the OS when this occurs?

What your describing seems like a symptom of our older chipset model which had a different buffering scheme than our current chipset. “bog downs” would occur eventually if data wasn’t being read in a timely manner.
If you could email me the following (at mikes@digi.com) it would be helpful:
- Have the Edgeport plugged in with no applications using any of the ports
- Run our edgeport.exe program (START/RUN and type in “edgeport” without the quotes) and then when the utility comes up click on the Information button to the right. Please make a screen shot of that information.
- Click on the version tab and make a screen shot of that info.
Please email me those two screen shots asap (jpg) please.
