Power levels for close-in reference distance

Hello,

This seems to be the proper forum for this question.

Are there any measuremens for received power at some reference distance d_0? Typically the distance is 1 meter (indoors) and a received power measurement is computed using propagation formulas or is measured with equipment.

I would prefer to have a real value to include as part of a wireless network simulation using a combination of Xbees and Xbee-PROs.

I’m not sure what you’re after here. Does the DB command help? It tells you the signal strength of the last good packet received. You also get that information in an RX API packet.

In the “d_0” near field of antenna, the power levels are difficult to predict mathematically. e-field, coupling loss, etc. Black art.
