I had to replace an old Xem after a crash and am trying to preserve config of terminals and printers. I don’t want to reinstall the software if I can help it. I get the message “No Memory @ 000D0000” when I boot it. How do I select a different memory space? Is this indicating a conflict? I have an old copy of MPI on the machine. Do I need to remove it and reload? Also when I try to run the setup script from the cd that came with it it tells me the following: Fatal Error - an error occurred during package specification. and ERROR STACK- error processing parcels/packages from command line. Invalid Package specification. Parcel misc:drp not found in software database. Anybody got any ideas?
The “no memory” error is likely a memory conflict. However, this will only apply to ISA style adapters. The memory range can be changed in MPI, finding an available memory range on your system may be a matter of trial and error. Simply try different memory ranges until one works.
If you want to pursue the installation from the CD, you will need to remove the existing driver/MPI version first. Also, try copying the CD image to your hard-drive, rename it to VOL.000.000 and install it using SCO’s custom utility as a media image.
