send bytes to node

I like to send custom bytes to my nodes so they know that they should take a certain action. I thaught this was possible but couldn’t find something like that in the documentation.

Any suggestions?

I know you can set and read I/O pins with the API commands remotely.(stand alone)
Otherwise you need a micro processor at the other end to make the decisions for you if you send custom bytes.

I only done it with the X-CTU terminal program so far.
Command to send “Hello” = custom bytes
7E 00 13 10 01 XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX FF FE 00 00 48 65 6C 6C 6F XX
Where the XX … XX is the destination address
and the last XX is the checksum
It is all explained on P92 90000976_D user manual

Receiving xbee serial pin out
7E 00 11 90 XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX 00 00 01 48 65 6C 6C 6F XX
Where XX … XX is the senders address.
XX is the checksum.
Hope this helps

Hi coez and others,

Any commands on how to do this with a microcontroller? Couldn’t find it in the reference table.
