Hi
First time submitting, to this forum, hopefully in the correct place.
Does the ANywhere USB device, work with Terminal services, we have a requirement were 6 people logging onto terminal services via a thin client, need to be able to access usb memory sticks.
Therefore we need the usb to be redirected to via tcpip to the terminal server and for each key to be flagged and readable via the thin client.
Does the Anywhere USN device work with Win2003 Terminal Server ?
Hi,
Yes, the AnywhereUSB can be installed on a Windows Server 2003 system that’s running Terminal Services.
Each thin client, that’s logged in via RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), will be able to interact with attached USB flash drives.
In summary, the AnywhereUSB will behave the same as if a standard USB hub was attached directly to the Windows Server 2003 system.
Hi,
Jeremy is quite correct, an AnywhereUSB will behave just like a standard USB hub attached directly to the computer. I just wanted to add additional clarification. It depends on the USB device attached on whether it can be shared among systems. Our AnywhereUSB device will not give you any additional sharing functionality other than a standard USB hub.
A good rule of thumb is if you can do what you want with a USB hub attached to the computer directly you can also do it with the AnywhereUSB. The AWUSB was mainly designed to extend the distances of your USB devices from the computer AND give customers usb support for applications that don’t normally support USB like VMWARE ESX.
Hope this helps, contact us anytime if you have further questions.
