# When is the release date for the Xbee3 802.15.4 firmware?

We received a notice regarding the Xbee S1 being discontinued and replaced by the Xbee3. According to the documentation, Xbee 3 replaces the XBee S1 in form and function.  
We ordered some Xbee 3 to test and see if we want to continue with the Xbee product series, but I cannot get access to the 802.15.4 firmware for the XB3-24.  
According to the forum, the 802.15.4 firmware is not yet released.  
When is the planned release date and where can I look to keep in touch with this release progress?
