Windows 2003 Drivers VMware

I am trying to install Windows 2003 drivers on to a VMware server. I get an error message saying that Software has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with this version of Windows. This Software will not be installed.
I have put the usb.sys file in the drivers folder. However I took it from a different Windows 2003 disk that the server was built with. Will this make a difference? HELP. Thanks.

Hi,

I believe you meant the usbd.sys file and what you did is totally fine.

You’re just going to have to go through the ominous warning (install anyway). Our drivers are not digitally signed but that’s ok, just install anyway.

Be aware that you’re going to get a lot of found new hardware wizards. Do not cancel out of any of them!

Let me know how it goes.
Mike

I couldn’t do continue anyway. Have worked it out. Driver Signing was set to block instead of warn. Thanks anyway.

Ok, I didn’t realize you couldn’t continue. Yes, the blocking setting will definitely cause you problems

Glad you got it working.

Take care,

Mike
