Has anyone protected a Xbee with conformal coating? I have the SMA antenna version. Any specific info and issues with this? Obviously the metal connector of the SMA shoult not be coated, but anything else to be careful of?

Coating the unit may affect the RF frequencies (so I have been told in a discussion of ‘potting’ solid the Xbee).
You should contact Digi support in Lindon and ask for direct advice, as I assume material used & thickness may affect you differently.
