I inherited a Rabbit 2000 board design and the Flash is going obsolete (Atmel AT29C040), a 5V Flash. The closest replacement I found was a Macronix MX29F040.
Although it is the same size Flash (4-bit) with compatible footprint/package, key differences include the sector size and the lack of lockout boot blocks on the 29F040.
Has had anyone had any experience with these parts or a similar flash migration on a Rabbit Processor Board?
I have searched the forums and didn’t find a similar thread. Any help is appreciated
