I have been searching for an extra EPC/X PCI host adapter card which from a Digi datasheet seems to be Part Number 77000427. I found someone in N.H. with a card with the part number (1P)50000540-01 Rev. J. or Alt part number 55000572-01. Are these the same cards?

Yes, they are the same product. The 55000572-01 has more onboard memory than the 50000540-01 adapter, other than that, they are the same.
It is the same card but a slightly older version. You should not notice any difference between the rev J and a newer version. The drivers are the same.
