Is there somewhere a Linux driver (RH 5.0) for an older multiport card PC/8e (part no. 30001624), or at least some instructions for instalation under Linux?

Neither card or OS are supported, but we might be able to dig something up for you to use.
Well, I did just that, and almost immediately I got the response from the support team, and they supplied me with a couple of useful links:
ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/drivers/linux/old/4001450H.rpm for the driver, and
ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/drivers/linux/old/9300239H.txt for the release notes.
The driver worked out just fine, and the connection over the multiport card is up and running!
