Problems with modbus devices locking up using 9XTend-PKG-R RS485 in mesh mode

Hi Im using 9XTend-PKG-R Rs485 in mesh mode to talk to 30 siemens mag-8000 water meters. Each meter is a remote site using 9XTend-PKG-R at each site to communicate to a kingfisher RTU. We have issues where the siemens 8000 modbus cards locking up and i am wondering if the meshing is causing the issues. Each meter has 2m of twisted pair sheild cable between 9XTend-PKG-R radio and meter. Termination link is on meter cause its the only device and the termination link on the 9XTend-PKG-R is on as well. Braud rate 9600, 1 stop bit and no flow control

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

is not a answer …but I have a 2 XStream-PKG-RA (9600 baudrate.1stop bit, and no flow control) ascii protocol radiomodems …and controller ptz at one end and a camera ptz…at the other end…with a pelco-d protocol,…2 wires and rs 485 at each end…but can’t control the camera pan/tilt/zoom…look like is the same problem you have…if you find a solution …please…help me out.

Also not anwser… I have done a similar setup as you have described but with pelco -p protocol and a maxstream 900mhz radio (digi) in point to point mode running 9600 braudrate no flow control and 1 stop bit. Make sure the simple things are checked such as end of line termination shunt on end device. We found with the digi radio if you enable the shunt via software it doesnt take place until you select the dipswitch on the radio. Does the keyboard make a slight contol of the PTZ?
