Serial Port Speed

According to the “NetOS BSP Software Reference Guide” version 5.1 ( I dont think version 6.0 exists??) baud rates of 234000 and higher require hardware handshaking. Is this still true. If I want to run the ME serial port at 234000 do I need to use hardware handshaking? Also Can the ME module go faster than 234000? if not, Will it ever be able to work at higher baud rates?

Blake,

The Connect ME (NS7520) is capable of support a maximum baud rate of 230400. In order to best sustain throughput at this speed enabling hardware flow control is critical.

If the NS750 processor were to be clocked up to about 58MHz (verses the average 55MHz), a maximum baud rate of 921600 is theoretically possible.
