udp_open

Hardware: RCM3365
Software: DC 9.62

I have used the following if statement to open a UDP socket so I can read in datagrams to a buffer:

if (!udp_open(&sock, LOCAL_PORT, resolve(REMOTE_IP), 0, NULL)){
printf("udp_open failed
");
}

I have tried setting REMOTE_PORT to 502 and 0 as well as setting the REMOTE_IP to 0 or some valid IP address. Everything I have tried has failed to open the socket. Here are the related definitions I am using to set up the call:

#define MAX_UDP_SOCKET_BUFFERS 3
#define LOCAL_PORT 6
#define REMOTE_PORT 502

//Local Variable
udp_Socket sock;

I would appreciate any advice that will assist me moving past this.
