There will be XBee and Xbee PRO ZB module firmware version supporting 7E1 uart format? I have industrial meters that accepts only 7 bit data.
Each data byte consists of a start bit (low), 8 data bits (least significant bit first), and a stop bit (high). Whether you have a UART connected to the XBee which is set for 8N1 or 7E1, its the same to the XBee, and you won’t need to change the XBee’s settings in other words.
You would need to change an XBee setting if you wanted to use 2 stop bits however.
