Connecting devices through GPIO

Hello Everybody

I was trying to connect the devices through the Digi connect me GPIOs. In the Digi connect me development Borad PartNo. 30006001-02. There is no value mentioned
for the diodes (D1 to D5 ) which are connected between SW2 and the Connector P3. Is naybody knows the value ?
Is it essential to have these diodes in the circuit to
usethe GPIOs with out Development Board.

It means these diodes are signal diodes only.just curious what role these diodeds are playing in this circuit.
What about the status LEDs? Are these normal LEDs or
special ?
