How do you add outgoing option fields to the DHCP client that ACE uses? The DHCP client that the boot loader uses can easily be modified but not the one ACE uses. There is a place to modify the parameter request list option but not to add other options as far as I know. Does any one know how to do this?
You couldn’t do it in 5.1 and as far as I know, you can’t do it in 6.0. Our products have to support the hostname option so that the DHCP server can register the name in the DNS server (not supported by all DHCP servers but essential to us) and a few other options. My solution was to write my own DHCP client. Works much better and it complies with the RFC.
You can add DHCP options in NETOS V6.0. Netsilicon has an application note to describe how to add DHCP options. Please contact Netsilicon Technical Support for the application note.
