Digi One SP - Realport Hylafax

Hello,

I’m quite new to Digi Realport devices so here is, what I’ve managed to get running so far.

I have an ESXi 3.5 Server with CentOS 5.5 and Hylafax 6.0.5.

Hylafax is set up to a Realport ttyaa00 which is connected to a 56k Modem.

The fax server sends faxes without any problems.

Receiving doesn’t work at all. I try to send a fax to the modem attached to the Digi One SP and the connection breaks down after 8-10 seconds.

Linkspeed of the Realport is set to 19200 and the modem answers after the first ring.

I’d be thankful for any ideas.

If there is more information you need, no problem.

Thanks in advance, theabyzz.

If you disable hylafax and enable mgetty on a modem port, are you able to dial in successfully and login?

Is DCD getting asserted by the modem? Once the modem answers, the DCD signal should be asserted on the port in order to communicate with the Linux host.

The port signals can be checked by issuing the following command from the root prompt of the Digi unit:

display port

If these don’t pan out, I recommend checking with Hylafax to see if they have seen this behavior and/or have suggestions.

I’ve managed to get things working, by switch from version 6.0.5 to 4.4.4

Well that’s kind of a solution, because all features I need are available in version 4.4.4
