display for BL2100 smart cat?

Hi All,

I need to to have a remote display of some sort for the Smart cat so i can embed it in an existing product.

I guess the simplest option would be to have a panel mount version of the 122x32 display with a longer cable that attaches to the existing keypad board, but i cant seem to find the manufacturor of that module to see if there is a suitable variaion of that display.

The device has a part number on the back MSC-G12232DYSY-2N DO127.
Googled around for a couple days and could not find a match. Anyone know what company produces this? Is there a compatible panel mount variation i can use?

Does this company ever do custom variations? Could i get a variation of the keypad board PN 175-0192 set up with connectors so i can locate the display and keypad where i need them?

many thanks,

Joe

There is a panel mount display option for the BL2100. Go to the BL2100 page and click the store/order button at the bottom. The option you’re looking for is part number 101-0502 which is the display and keypad mounted to a NEMA 4 panel mount bezel and the unit interfaces through a single ribbon cable. You can buy a 20" cable from us (540-0066 on the same order page) or build your own quite easily. Post again if this doesn’t work for you.

Many thanks,

That might work for 1 of the 3 products this is likely going into, but it will not work easily for the remaining two. I have layouts and parts in house which were originally layed out a while back based on the older rugged giant and a remote 2X20 character display. I thought i could deal with it by constructing a cable between this new controller and another 122x32 display that i ordered but there are diferent display-controler variations, and there are multiplexors on the keypad/display board that have complicated things to a level a bit over my head (mechanical engineer, sorry).

I can fudge this temporarily by soldering in a length of cable and gluing the display that comes with it down to some Perf-board but i will need to find a production-worthy solution pretty soon thereafter…

maybe a diferent software driver and cable to connect to a 2X20 character display? i don’t need the keypad or LED’s.
