Please can you provide me instruction for tracing smtp steps.

if you are connecting to a normal SMTP with out tls or ssl you can use the analyser selecting the wan interface and port 25 this will show you the details of the transaction as it is in clear text.
when connecting to SSL or TLS you will only see the packets between the router and server and all the payload is encrypted so you cannot see the transactions
