how to understand two xbee can talk to each other

I have 2 Xbee Pro S2 2.4 and i want to buy a new one to create a three device server so all three should be able to talk to each other. the Seller told me that he doesn’t guarantee that this new module works with that 2 modules that i have since the serial numbers are a little different. is it correct? does any xbee pro s2 can talk to each other or they should have exact serial number?

The Serial number is to be different. That is each module has a Unique 64 bit MAC address or Serial number assigned to it by Digi. That is per standard IEEE regulations.

Yes, any XBee ZB (S2, S2B or S2C) module operation with the Zigbee firmware is capable of talking to another.
