IPSec split tunnel for Digi TransPort WR44 to SonicWall

The direct question: Is it possible to get a Digi TransPort WR44 to use a split tunnel when an IPSec VPN tunnel is up with a SonicWall router.

The situation: A small workgroup in a temporary job trailer needs network services. 4G cellular data is the only ISP option available. An IPSec VPN to serve as a site-to-site VPN is very desirable. The Digi TransPort WR44 is connected to the Internet over 4G. It also establishes an IPSec VPN tunnel to the SonicWall, and traffic is passing from and to the main corporate LAN when that tunnel is up. Problem is when the tunnel is up clients using the Digi lose Internet. The logical solution is to use a split tunnel, traffic going back to the main corporate LAN uses the IPSec VPN and Internet traffic just goes out to the Internet over the 4G network. I’m having a hell of a time finding the setting(s) that will allow this to happen.

My thanks in advance.

You are probably using 0.0.0.0 as the remote subnet. Only use the subnet you are using at the head office and then the Digi will use the default route for the remaining traffic.

We would like to help you. The configuration question is related to the set-up of the cellular router. We would need more details to offer support on the SonicWall side.
