Is the XBee explorer compatible with the XBee3 PRO TH model?

In my network design, I am hoping to have the coordinator module, an XBee3 PRO TH RPSMA, mounted in the control panel and run its antenna to external control panel mount. My plan is to have this coordinator module permanently mounted inside the control panel connected to the xbee explorer (if compatitble) which then of course connects permanently with the usb on the pc which runs the program.

sound fine? yay? nay?
