Is XTEND compatible with XBee-PRO 900HP?

Hi,

We developed a device network with XTEND modules using DigiMesh. We would like to add smaller sensors around the main devices (XTEND), but we do not need as much power as XTEND can deliver. We are looking for a cheaper module, like XBee-PRO 900HP, to do this job. Are they compatible? Is there another RF module compatible with XTEND?
