Issue with the delay inserted by the ZigBees

Having already installed 3 pairs of XBee-PRO-PKG ZigBee-ready/802.15.4 RS-232 RF Modems on a particular application, I have an issue with the delay inserted by the ZigBees.

Using the simple RS-232 cable, it isn’t required in the software to insert any delay – waittime for the data to be transmitted and received. On the other hand using the ZigBee pairs in a peer to peer connection, I must insert a delay equal or greater than 200ms in order to have a correct communication channel and the RO parameter is only 3.

And the questions are:
1.What is the minimum time interval a ZigBee pair requires to send an receive a data packet (Hardware Delay)?
2.Is there any way to improve the 200ms delay?

Are you seeing the DH (destination high) and DL (destination low) parameters between your peer to peer modules? If the modules are configured for broadcasting (which is the default) it is possible to see transmit times such as the times you are seeing.

To create a point-to-point tunnel set:

Module #1 DH to the value of Module #2 AH
Module #1 DL to the value of Module #2 AL
Module #2 DH to the value of Module #1 AH
Module #2 DL to the value of Module #1 AL

Then you will have a quick, unicast tunnel setup between the two nodes.
