I have just installed Debian 11 as my Windows 10 cratered.
I have XCTU installed now on the Debian machine and it comes up just fine, however, when I try to discover my radio modules no serial ports are displayed and I cannot specify them manually either. My machine discovered the radio module on /dev/ttyUSB0. All my radio modules were discovered on my windows version.
Thoughts?
I am presuming that you have installed the Linux version of XCTU? It does mention on Debian -- Debian “bullseye” Release Information that the 11 version has been superseded by Bullseye.
It may be that you do not have the proper drivers installed for the hardware you are working with.
Are you able to Telnet into the TTYUSB0 port at 9600 and enter command mode?
Thanks for getting back to me. I ran putty serial and no joy.
Here is the lines from dmesg:
[62127.215162] usb 1-2: Product: FT232R USB UART
[62127.215163] usb 1-2: Manufacturer: FTDI
[62127.215164] usb 1-2: SerialNumber: A602SHS3
[62127.218429] ftdi_sio 1-2:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
[62127.218454] usb 1-2: Detected FT232RL
[62127.219075] usb 1-2: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0
As you can see it is recognized by Debian…
Incidentally the “new” system I’m using was already built with Deb 11 and I haven’t upgraded it yet.
Thoughts?
What board are you mounting the XBee on?
Have you looked at the drivers from FTDI for the board/chip being used?
