I would be interested in developing for one of the latest Rabbit modules, probably the wireless one. However, in my group, we got rid of all Windows machines; we are entirely on Mac or linux. I don’t really love to hunt for a piece of spare hardware where I can install Windows; is there a version of the development tools that works on linux or mac?
Many thanks,
Luca
(Yes, I know, if this was a major industrial project I would buy some Windows machine, but I am not sure where what I am doing will lead, so I want to develop with the equipment I already have…)
I’m using my Macbook Pro to develop, but I use VMWare Fusion with XP loaded in the virtual machine. The USB cable connects fine. I have the
minicore RCM5700 development kit with ver 10 Dynamic C. Works great.
I am also using a MacBook Pro with VMWare version 2. It works well. With the previous version of VMWare, occasionally the USB port would hang, but that seems to be resolved now.
if you need to work with Digi Modules on Linux or Mac, you can try a software called moltosenso Network Manager, that is available for Win, Linux and Mac. It has the same functionalities of X-CTU, even more if you need them.
