Has anyone implemented the RCM3000 to act as a USB host? I’m looking to add the capability to use a USB joystick for control in my system. What hardware and software would be required to add USB functionality?
I read the AN405 (www.rabbitsemiconductor.com/documentation/docs/refs/AN405/an405bod.htm ) and would this same hardware/chip setup work to allow the RCM3000 to function as a USB host? Then I would only have to write the software for the USB host?
Thanks for any help or direction.

That’s not the host chip. You’d want the Vinculum VNC1L. Probably a VDIP1 or VDIP2 to experiment with. http://www.vinculum.com/
I use them for USB Flash Drives. The chips alone program very much like the Rabbit modules.
There’s also the MAX3421E from Maxim with twice as fast SPI.
And this thing which says it works with a JoyStick:http://www.saelig.com
