sending/receiving AT commands from Xbee via X3

Hi,

I am new python and just learning the X3, but I want to know how I can send commands the a remote Xbee. The Xbee is connected to an RFID reader so i want to get the serial data off the reader.

If anyone could share an example code that would be great or point me in the right direction.
