TransPort WR21 losing mobile connection

Carrier: Verizon
Static IP

I have 3 of these units all located in areas with strong signal used for remote cameras. All units are behaving the same. They work flawlessly for hours, sometimes days (each device varies) and then lose mobile connection and have to be manually rebooted to regain connection.
I have run the connection wizard and checked with verizon to ensure correct APN settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are many reasons for this. What is your eventlog saying?

Does a module power cycle recover the connection as well (modemoff)?

Do you have SureLink active to monitor the link?

Now that I have the unit in my hands, I am finding that a power cycle is not recovering the connection.
SureLink is active
I’ve done a factory reset, the unit took about 15 minutes to get a signal. The link stayed active for a few hours before dropping. Power cycle is still not recovering the link. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, that status request thing is not normal. It means that the router cannot speak to the module to get the status. In your log are you hiding event codes? You should be seeing a full module power cycle in your logs.

Try upgrading the firmware to 5276, default the unit and see if that helps otherwise you will need to contact your distributor for support options.

Not hiding event codes. I’ll do as you suggested. Thank you for your time, at least I know I’m not crazy.

I’m having the same problem with the Digi cellular module disconnecting. Did you find a solution?

Unfortunately not. I even submitted a ticket to digi and they couldn’t figure it out. I finally had to trash them and went with the Airlink GX440. We gave several of these and they all work flawlessly.

Thanks for the information on the Airlink GX440. I may have to switch too. The Digi LTE cellular module failed due to a bad component but the SIM was still OK. This is the second time it failed in a year.
