XBee3 devices are advertised as including BLE. As far as I see it to date, BLE is used to manage the device rather than as a device-device communications protocol. Now we have Bluetooth mesh, will be able to set up a Bluetooth mesh network using Xbee 3s? I love using ZigBee for creating meshes but the data rate is fairly low. With BLE we could see a 4-8 fold increase in throughput. Anybody aware if Digi are working on this? I’ve looked at the Bluetooth SIG documentation and it makes the eyeballs click. If Digi can make a Bluetooth mesh set up using XCTU as easy as setting up a ZigBee mesh, then happy days.
