Hi, I’m new to the forum and have come here out of desperation since tech support is so costly. I’m using an m-box/pro tools 6.4 with and iMac 10.3.5 and Roland Fantom-S88 keyboard using the analog inputs.
Listening from the headphones in the m-box or from the Edirol speakers that are connected to the output on the m-box, I just noticed there is a marked difference between the sound of my keyboard when I record enable a track as opposed to when it is not enabled, as well as the recorded sound.
Kind of like a bear trap echo as well as the hammers on the piano setting sound quite jarring and pronounced.
A friend said it has something to do with a feedback loop because I’m monitoring the sound as I am recording, so I tried the output headphone jack from the keyboard while the track is enabled and predictably, it had no affect on the sound.
I do want to hear as I am recording because the plug ins I am using create an affect that is too difficult for me to anticipate without hearing as I play.
Is there something I can do to prevent this distortion?
Thanks so much for any help.
