Could someone please tell me what the difference between version 1 and version 2 of the WR44 router. Is it just the cellular modules that are different or has the main circuit board been changed? I am wondering if it is possible to upgrade the cellular module with a newer LTE capable one.
The V1 and V2 the main board has changed design and increase in CPU speed the V1 should be able to run LTE but it would have to be one supported in the latest firmware and details can be found in the release notes

This is most importent for firmware update O:)
On a WR44, it should clearly state if it is a v2. If not then check the product code on the bottom of the device.
WR44-XXXX-XXX-XX
The 9th character in the part code 1234-5678-901-23
If it is a D or W then it is a v1 if it is a N, C, F, G, L, M, T it is a v2.
My product states V2 and also D (V1 non WiFi) 
Is it possible to figure out the version by flash memory size or any other hardware/firmware identifier?
