Hi,
I am trying to configure 2 XBP24 module to work in the following mode:
- A transmitter is in cyclic sleep mode. Sleep period is 5 sec, and wake up period is 100ms. During wake up, it read input value from Analog Input 1 and send it to a receiver.
- A receiver is in cyclic sleep mode and line passing mode. Sleep period is 5 sec, and wake up period is 100ms. During wake up, it receive signal from the transmitter and update PWM0.
I have tried many times, but unable to set the two modules into sleep mode. Your help is much appreciated.
Hi
The sleep function is only enable on end device function set. So which function set and firmware are you using on this devices…
Second thing, if you using both devices in the sleep mode than the synchronisation between this two devices should be properly done.
Third thing, if both devices are end devices than you need to first establish a network using Coordinator.

Hi Quiqhua,
for this type of operation Digi has a much more suitable radio: The XBee 24 Digi MESH.
Digi MESH allows you to build a synchronized sleeping network.
Please check out these modules and download the product manual. This will be able to do what you want.

Hi Raoul,
Thank you very much for your great recommendation. Yes, that is what I am looking for!
One issue, I find that DigiMesh manual does not mention about line passing feature. What I am trying to achieve is: If an analog or digital input pin of a transmitter is High or Low status, then the corresponding output pin of a matching receiver also stay High of Low status for 5 seconds.
Can I achieve the function using DigiMech? Thanks a lot.
Hi,
- The function set is XBee Pro 802.15.4, Version 10E6.
- Is it easy to handle synchronization?
- You mean without a coordinator, a receiver is unable to receive signal from a transmitter?
Thanks.
Hi,
you can use your XBee 802.15.4 hardware with the mentioned DigiMESH firmware and get what you want.
Goto the digi support website and download the DigiMESH firmware. They will run on your hardware.
Goto http://www.digi.com/support/productdetl.jsp?pid=3524&osvid=0&s=378&tp=2 and check out the Version 8x62 firmware which will run on your hardware.
Also download the product manual to read how to setup a synchronized sleeping network.
