Xbee Pro S2B, DFRobot IO BoosterPack, and MSP430

I am simply trying to use a Test/Query my new Xbee Pro S2B with XCTU. My current setup is as follow:

  • Xbee Pro S2B connect to a DFRobot IO BoosterPack
  • DFRobot IO BoosterPack conected to a MSP4300F5529 launchpad

I have tried 9600 and 115200 baud rates using both X-CTU 5.2.86 then XCTU 6.1.0.3 interfaces. I am using the COM port labeled “MSP Application UART1”.

XCTU tells me that it “Could not find any radio module”

Then I tried to recovery the module by using the “XBP24BZ7” product family and I get the following error:

  • Looking for active bootloader… [ERROR]
There is not an active bootloader in the module.
  • Resetting and entering bootloader… [ERROR]
There is not an active bootloader in the module.

I have tied these tests on two separate Xbee Pro S2B modules and still get the same results. What do I need to do/try in order to getthis to work?

You need to use an interface board that connects the radio module to the PC and not via a processor.
