XBee S2C and iris contact sensor

Hi,

I’ve got my Iris contact sensor to connector to my S2C coordinator, but the sensor always issues a NWK Leave command after exactly 4 seconds. I can’t figure out why that is. I can issue the Active EP and Simple Desc requests quickly and I get all the info back I expect, but I can’t seem to keep it connected to the network? I’ve tried setting Sleep values high, but that did not help.

Thanks.

What zigbee profile is the sensor designed for? Is it the public profile or one of the others?

The sensor documentation says it is Zigbee HA 1.2 compliant.

So I guess the public profile?

Hope that’s what you were looking for?

No, that would be the Home Automation profile (HA). Try following the steps outlined at http://knowledge.digi.com/articles/Knowledge_Base_Article/Zigbee-Home-Automation/?q=Home+Automation&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1

I had most of those settings already. I had EO set to zero and I changed it to 2, but no luck.

Are there any other coordinator settings needed? How soon do I set NJ back to zero? Does that even matter?

Is there a way to find out why the sensor leaves the network?

For HA, you must have all of the correct settings for association to even occur. In some cases, the 3rd party device requires a specific response from the application or it could disassociate on its own.
