I have difficulty in understanding the differences between XBee and ZigBee. Detail explanation would be appreciated. Also Where I can use each of them?

The term XBee is a hardware form factor that was invented by MaxStream (Digi) back around 2003.
The term Zigbee refers to a Protocol that was established by a consortium of companies and the IEEE.
One of the Digi XBee modules uses or runs on a Zigbee IEEE protocol.
