XBee3 network: grounding

So I have a network with 3 xbee modules - one coordinator, two routers. The two routers are breadboarded on the same breadboard. Should they be connected to the same ground? does it matter? That’s how I have been connecting it up thus far. Shedding some light on remote modules in a network with respect to grounding would be much appreciated.

No, they do not need to be on the same ground if they are only talking to each other over the RF port.
