Is anyone using the Arduino or Freeduino boards to control Mini Core modules such as the RCM5600W? I am new to all this, and I’m looking for hints about how to get started with this combination successfully.

I don’t know why you would want to “control” a RCM with an Arduino… The RCM is a replacement for an Arduino. Much faster, more programming space, more I/O, built in networking.
I use both the RCM5600/5700 and Arduino, but after getting over the higher learning curve of the rabbit, I like the RCM’s much better then the Arduino.
