AnywhereUSB Manager - (Enumeration issue) duplicate PID/VID causing COM port missmatch

Hi Team,

Software: AnywhereUSB Manager - Service Mode (3.1.33.1)
Device: [AW08-G300] AnywhereUSB 8 Plus (Latest FIRMWARE)

We have a lot of USB device with same serial numbers (PID/VID).
Because of this the COM port assignment in Windows 10 is not static and gets randomized.

Is there an registry edit for the software we can make to ignore serial numbers of the device.

For example, For USB devices connected directly via Motherboard or USB hubs on Windows 10 PC.
Registry Editor:

  • Add a BINARY_KEY called like this and set it to 1:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\UsbFlags\IgnoreHWSerNum{Device VID + Device PID}
  • Example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\UsbFlags\IgnoreHWSerNum04036001
