Are XBEEs compatible with Microchip Transceivers?

The title displays my question! =)

For a project of mine, I have ordered a touch-screen PIC32 MX4 from MikroElectronika. This has a Microchip MRF24J40 for wireless communication (IEEE 802.15.4™ 2.4 GHz). Is it possible to use a Xbee with this transeiver?

I want to read RSSI values and transfer data back and forth.

Okay, called with a retailer.

He said that Xbees are compatible in zigbee mode, but a retailer from microchip says that there is a stack interferance.

No clarification just yet
