I currently use 50000878-03 can I interchange them for 50000878-76? Im trying to understand the difference.

Your question is can you swap a 50000878-03 (Digi Connect ME CF/W NG) for a 50000878-76 (Digi Connect ME -S NG 4MB (UPW))?
50000878-03 is programmed with NET+OS bootloader and 50000878-76 is a plugNplay unit using NDS. Very differenct software. Since PlugNPlay has different software and bootloader they are not interchangeable. Changing their bootloader will void the warranty.
